IWC Big Pilot's IW500422

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was a 20th century French gentleman pilot and writer. As well as accumulating many writing awards, he also journeyed to the USA to enlist the power of its government to join the war against Nazi Germany. He flew many missions out of North Africa despite being well past the maximum age for airforce pilots, displaying a continuing dedication to justice and an unfaltering capability in the cockpit. He flew until 1944, when he disappeared without trace during a reconnaissance mission. To pay homage to this great poet and humanist, IWC created the Big Pilot's Edition Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which features the 'A' from Antoine's signature emblazoned on the dial at nine o'clock.
